Visa Information


Foreign Visitors to Kiribati are required to carry the passport and the departure ticket at the time of the entry.

Citizens from Japan, USA, Australia, New Zealand, and EU may visit Kiribati without a visa.
Citizens from UK, Pacific Islanders, and Republic of Korea may visit Kiribati without a visa for a limited stay.
Citizens from other countries are required to obtain a visa.

In Japan, the Honorary Consulate-General of the Republic of Kiribati in Tokyo will process the visa application.

Required Documents

Two (2) application forms (The applicant's signature required)
Two (2) photographs (5 x 4cm)
Photocopy of the air tickets (open tickets are not acceptable) or itinerary issued by your travel agent
Passport (with at least three months remaining until expiration date)
Fee: 2,000 yen. - for ordinary passport holders. [Diplomatic (green) or official duty (brown) passport holders are exempted.]

The fee is 2,000 yen.- for the three-month single-entry visa. The multiple-entry visa is valid for six months.

Notes
The multiple-entry visa is valid for six months with the fee of 5,000 yen.-. (Approval of the Honorary Consular-General is required.)
The single-entry visa is valid for up to three months.

Issuance
Visa processing days are Mondays and Thursdays (11:00 - 17:00).
In case of emergency, it may be issued on the same day on a Monday or a Thursday.
When applying by mail, enclose the fee (2,000 yen.-), and postage for the return registered mail.
