Citizens of countries outside the European Economic Area can apply to the Embassy to obtain permission to work in Ireland under the work authorisation and work visa scheme.  This scheme only applies to individuals who are qualified in certain categories of employment.  For full information, and to see whether this scheme applies to you, click here.

 

Work visas are issued to citizens of countries who require a visa to enter Ireland.  Work authorisations are issued to citizens of countries (such as Japan) who do not require a visa to visit Ireland.  Click here to see whether you need a visa to visit Ireland.

Work Permits

Irish companies can apply directly to the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment for a work permit to employ a non-EEA national, such as Japanese nationals.  Full information, as well as application forms, can be found by clicking here.
