EGYPTIAN - JAPANESE COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF TOURISM

By the End of this year 2007, the number of Japanese tourists heading to Egypt is expected to reach 120,000 Tourists for the first time ever. We are actually targeting 200,000 Japanese tourists to Egypt by the year 2010 not only in cultural tourism but also in other aspects of this field such as diving tourism, safari, golf and others.

As the Japanese market is one of the most prominent and promising markets, H.E Mr. Zoheir Garranah Minister of Tourism of Egypt will be visiting Japan in February 2008 to participate in the gSapporo Snow Festivalh at which Egypt will be a guest of honor with three snow statues of Abu Simbel, Sphinx and the Pyramids, and to discuss issues of mutual interest with H.E. the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan, as well as with senior officials in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Japanese Diet (parliament).
